"For close to 2 years, I found myself lost in the traditional medical system, battling chronic symptoms that had stopped me in tracks. I was passed around, misdiagnosed, dismissed, and exhausted from fighting for answers. Coming to IVY as a scared and defeated version of myself, I immediately felt heard, seen, believed and validated. To say that IVY Integrative and the amazing humans there have changed my life is an understatement."

A More Complete Approach to Your Health

Naturopathic medicine is a whole-person approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand how your body is functioning as a whole.

We consider nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, environment, and medical history — whether you’re seen in person or via telemedicine.

Our goal is to identify root causes and build a plan that supports long-term healing, not short-term symptom relief.

Understanding Your Provider Options

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs)

Naturopathic doctors are trained in a root-cause, whole-person model with extensive education in:

  • Clinical nutrition

  • Lifestyle medicine

  • Herbal medicine

  • Nutritional supplementation

  • Homeopathy

  • Traditional Chinese medicine

Their training is centered around natural therapies and prevention.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs)

DOs are conventionally trained physicians with additional musculoskeletal training, but their education is not focused on naturopathic modalities.

Medical Doctors (MDs) Offering “Functional” or “Integrative” Care

Some MDs pursue additional training in nutrition or supplements through short courses or certifications. While helpful, this training is typically not as extensive or foundational as the education naturopathic doctors receive in natural medicine, which is built into their core medical training.

Chiropractors (DCs) Who Recommend Supplements

Chiropractors (DCs) are primarily trained in musculoskeletal care, spinal alignment, and nervous system function. Some chiropractors incorporate nutrition and supplement recommendations into their practice. While this can be helpful in certain contexts, nutritional therapy, supplementation, and natural medicine are not the primary focus of chiropractic medical training.

If you're specifically looking for a provider trained extensively in natural, holistic therapies — not as an add-on — a naturopathic doctor offers that depth.

Our Naturopathic Process

1

90-Minute
Comprehensive Initial Intake

Your first visit — whether in-office or virtual — is a deep dive into your health:

  • Past medical history

  • Family history

  • Current concerns

  • Diet and nutrition

  • Exercise habits

  • Sleep patterns

  • Medications

  • Supplements

  • Physical exam (in-person when applicable)

  • Lab recommendations if needed

We take the time to connect the dots and understand the full picture.

2

40-Minute
Follow-Up Visit

We review labs (if applicable) and walk through your personalized treatment plan, which may include:

  • Nutrition guidance

  • Exercise recommendations

  • Lifestyle changes

  • Environmental modifications

  • Supplement recommendations

3

Ongoing 20-Minute Follow-Ups

Most follow-ups are 20 minutes, focused on progress, adjustments, and support.

If new concerns arise, we expand visits as needed to ensure your care stays personalized.

Why Patients Choose Naturopathic Care

  • More time and attention

  • Care that looks at root causes

  • Natural, personalized treatment options

  • Flexible visit options (in-person or virtual)

  • Practical, sustainable recommendations

  • Support for long-term health, not quick fixes

My naturopath at IVY took the time to hear my entire life story, ran comprehensive tests to see what was truly going on in my body, and created a treatment plan that within 3 weeks gave me the results that no specialists delivered in the decades I had been suffering. I have lost nearly half of the random weight I had gained, I don't wake up in pain anymore, I can wear my wedding ring again that hasn't fit in months, and my energy level is back to where it was before I had my son over 18 years ago! I would recommend Ivy Integrative to everyone who is suffering or doesn't feel like other doctors are hearing them - they've changed my life!

Frequently Asked Questions

01

Do you offer both in-person and telemedicine visits?

Yes. You can choose between in-person visits at our clinic or virtual appointments if you’re located in North or South Carolina.

03

How do follow-ups work?

A 40-minute follow-up to review labs and create your plan, then ongoing 20-minute visits for support and adjustments.

02

What happens during the first visit?

A 90-minute comprehensive intake covering your full health history, lifestyle, medications, supplements, and potential lab needs.

04

Is telemedicine effective?

Yes! Although hands-on therapies will not be a part of your treatment plan, most aspects of naturopathic care translate beautifully via telemedicine (most patients prefer it!).
