Dr. Katherine Lewis, OTD, OTR/L, is a dedicated occupational therapist who focuses on the use of lifestyle optimization to support individuals facing challenges related to various chronic health diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), autism, post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), obesity, diabetes, chronic pain, and other mental and physical health concerns that impact an individual's participation and engagement in daily life.

Dr. Katherine Lewis's expertise lies in empowering individuals to overcome obstacles by focusing on lifestyle optimization through the use of effective activities, habits, routines, and environmental modifications. Her sessions rely heavily on the use of mindfulness, self-awareness, education, and collaboratively problem-solving ways to promote meaningful participation in daily life. Her sessions may focus on the development and implementation of a health-promoting morning and evening routine, energy conservation, sensory regulation, and pain management strategies, use of emotional regulation and coping skills, time management, organization, environmental modifications, and more. Each session will equip you with the skills and tools you need to increase meaningful engagement in all areas of your daily life, including self-care, work, leisure, education, social participation, and health management.

Occupations, from an occupational therapy perspective, are defined as meaningful activities that individuals engage in daily. Everything we do from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to sleep, across all ages and stages of life, are considered occupations. Dr. Katherine Lewis recognizes that both mental and physical health concerns can create barriers to participating in these activities independently and purposefully, impacting overall life satisfaction. She strives to address these challenges head-on, and helps clients to leverage their daily occupations to support their health and wellness, rather than be a detriment to it.

She has experience working in both traditional pediatric and adult settings, and with a variety of medical diagnoses. By utilizing virtual visits, Dr. Katherine Lewis extends her services to individuals and families across North Carolina, ensuring accessibility and convenience. Additionally, she offers in-person appointments for those residing in the Charlotte, NC area.
